Commissions
I am again doing commissions,
quick-study sketches up to formal portraits,
of reenactors and/or small scale events.
Why just reenactment? Because they are visually interesting, I really like the textures, colors, movement and history, and the people who commit their time and money to do these events are to be commended for keeping alive skill-sets that would otherwise be lost.
Subject matter (or time-lines) included are: general Western, Old West (SASS, CAS, CMAS, etc) & Indian Wars, Rendevous & Mountain-men Era, and Civil War. I will do Ren Faire, although it's not Western or desert but is being held here, and is fun in its own right. And I will do anything HORSE or horse-related, of course.
Pricing, Media, & Sizes:
Pricing does not (yet) include framing. All prices are for ONE person's likeness, or grouping of up to 5 small figures in action:

If interested, please email me at: commissions@blueponymesa.com and we can discuss your project. Please be aware that I prefer to work from my own photos and sketches/color notes, so if you are going to be at a specific event, contact me so I can be there to get reference material.
I may start offering matting and framing packages as framing original sketches seems to be a lost art with some frame shops (mainly the big-box stores). If I do, I will post all pertinent information and pricing here. Or you can email me. Either way (framed or unframed) I will give you all the information about the sketch (medium, paper, proper handling) to insure you (or a framer) knows how to handle it.
