Non-Fiction, History, etc.

This list is a kind of mish-mash of everything human-related to the desert. Some is historical, some anecdotal, some lifestyle and recreational; basically things I didn't feel fit well into the Natural Non-fiction page.

    The Silence And The Sun by Joe De Kehoe. We just found this book at the Mother Road Museum in the Casa Del Desierto, the Harvey House Depot building in Barstow, CA, and this book is wonderful (the museum is pretty neat, too). If you're looking for a great read filled with mining and railroad town history of the East Mojave Desert, GET THIS BOOK.
